Teaching matrices for the first time in VCE General Mathematics can be daunting if the content is unfamiliar. With the change of mathematics study design being implemented in 2023 this session will look at introducing the matrices module into Units 1 & 2 VCE General Mathematics as well as content for Units 3 & 4. The session will focus on the full matrices module working through typical VCE examination questions and tips for teaching matrices in VCE mathematics.
Presenter - Jess Mount
Jess is secondary mathematics teacher who has spent the last 11 years focusing on the General and Further Mathematics courses.
She is a VCE Further Mathematics assessor, MAV Further Mathematics revision lecturer and SAC writer. Formerly a Head of Mathematics, Jess now works as a secondary education consultant for MAV and regularly consults at schools about VCE Mathematics.
