Description:

REGISTRATIONS CLOSE: MONDAY 16th AUGUST

TARGET AUDIENCE: Year 5 - 10 teachers

ABSTRACT: When you find a successful maths lesson it is professionally interesting to ‘pull it apart to find out what makes it tick’. One successful and timely M300 lesson is known as Dice Footy (its currently Footy season) and it is primarily this lesson that will be workshopped to find its underlying ‘anatomy’ i.e those features and ingredients that can make all lessons more successful. It looks initially like a simple game but rapidly becomes a seriously productive mathematical investigation.

PRESENTER: Charles Lovitt

PRESENTER PROFILE: Charles Lovitt has directed several State and National PL programs such as MCTP and Maths300. He is a ‘lesson collector’ based on a deep belief that the wisdom of our profession is held by practicing classroom teachers - and it is their successful creative lessons that he aims to collect and then scrutinize in PL settings.

PLEASE NOTE: This session will be delivered via ZOOM. The session may be recorded with audio recording over the presenter’s PowerPoint.
