Description:
Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th December 2020 8:45am - 4:30pm Virtual Conference
Registrations will close on Friday 20 November. Unfortunately late registrations will not be accepted.
The Mathematical Association of Victoria is passionate about the power of knowledge for educators involved in the mathematical industry and while there is nothing quite like face-to-face connection at a conference, MAV highly anticipated and well attended in-person conference is to be delivered online in 2020 where you can attend from the safety and comfort of your location.
MAV invites you to participate in MAV20 virtual conference A 2020 Vision: Engaging Mathematics.
We all experience mathematics differently; some of us are confident, others suffer from maths anxiety, and many of us sit between these two extremes. What is your story? How do you engage in mathematics?
How can we as a community: ignite students’ passion for, and value of, mathematics; engage and support colleagues’ professional growth; and, engage and inform the community as a whole? Let’s create a 2020 vision to share the positive skills and attributes that mathematics can provide for future generations.
There will be five keynote presentations commencing at 9.15am each morning in five virtual rooms followed by concurrent sessions in 10 virtual rooms from 10.20am on each day. There will be four Foundation to Year 8 rooms, four Year 7 to Year 12 rooms and two misc. levels rooms.
Also, there will be a number of networking functions and competitions throughout both days.
