NAPLAN, supporting our education journey

NAPLAN seems to raise the temperature of many people, from teachers to academics and to parents. Sometimes it is a visceral response, and in some cases NAPLAN puts undue pressure on students and teachers. This includes for example commercial providers capitalising from resources and exploiting parent anxieties, making them feel like they should be doing more to ensure their child’s NAPLAN success. Victorian Coding Challenge - 2020 Stage 2 competition winners announced

MAV, in collaboration with Digital Learning and Teaching Victoria, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020 Victorian Coding Challenge. We have been extremely impressed with the level of engagement and participation in the 2020 VCC. Over 3000 students from government schools across Year 5-10 took part. The feedback we have received from teachers and students alike has been wonderful, and we look forward to next year’s VCC.

MAV awarded funding for the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series!

The Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series is a key initiative of Victoria s $60.2 million Student Excellence Program and will provide enrichment opportunities across the curriculum to extend high-ability students from prep to year 12 in Victorian government schools, so they are better supported to excel and reach their full potential. MAV is pleased to be running two exciting activities to be delivered across the state between Sept 2020 and Dec 2022, available to students in metropolitan and regional Victorian Government schools. Activities will be free and appropriately tailored to the needs of high-ability students.
