


Call for Options – MAV26 Annual Conference
Activating Mathematical Hearts, Hands and Minds
The Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV) invites passionate and dynamic presenters to submit options for the 63rd Annual MAV Conference, to be held on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 December 2026.
MAV26 will bring together educators, researchers, and industry professionals to explore innovative approaches to mathematics education. The conference will focus on how we can engage learners emotionally, actively, and intellectually, activating mathematical hearts, hands, and minds across classrooms, careers, and communities.

Important Dates
- Call for Option Submission Deadline: 30 June 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: Mid to late July 2026
- Conference Dates: Thursday 3 and Friday 4 December 2026
Submitting Your Option
All options will be reviewed by at least two reviewers using a points-based process. Review criteria include:
- Clarity and relevance of the presentation title
- Alignment with the conference theme and selected sub-theme
- Clear description of content and focus
- Well-defined and relevant key takeaways
- Suitability for the nominated audience level(s)

The Call for Options platform is available you can view submission guidelines and access the online submission portal.
CHANGES THIS YEAR
Categories (formerly Sub-themes): Sub-themes are now referred to as categories, and only one category may be selected. If you are unsure which category best fits your submission, you may choose the option to have a reviewer assign one for you.
Teaching Level: A new level has been added: Early Childhood (0–5 years).
Presenter Fees: A fee of $49 per presenter, per day applies (maximum of two presenters per workshop). Additional presenters are welcome to attend as delegates.
This fee contributes to presenter-related costs, including catering and administration, and applies to both Thursday and Friday, regardless of your presentation day.
If you are an exhibitor and your presentation is accepted, you will not be required to pay the presenter fee, as these costs are included in exhibitor packages.
Early Bird Member: $310 per day (available till 30 June 2026)
Standard Member: $330 per day (from 1 July 2026)
Non-member: $412.50 per day
Paid and affiliated student members: $99 per day
