Maths Talent Quest
The Maths Talent Quest (MTQ) is an annual activity aimed at promoting interest in mathematics and fostering positive attitudes amongst students, teachers and parents. The focus of the MTQ is on the process of mathematical investigations and relating mathematics to everyday life.
State-wide Games Days
A Maths Games Day is an opportunity for students to develop their mathematical talents and thinking skills in a setting where maths is regarded as fun and worthwhile with like-minded students from a diverse range of schools.
VCE Maths Revision Program
MAV's VCE Mathematics Revision Program assists VCE students in studying for their VCE mathematics and in preparation for their exams. Students receive a comprehensive online course with videos from VCE exam experts and CAS experts. They also get detailed notes and access to live webinars where they can ask further questions.
Victorian Coding Challenge
The program is aimed at young coders from Year 5 to Year 10. Our online platform offers a range of coding challenges aimed at fostering computational thinking and creativity using code and mathematics. Please explore the Victorian Coding Challenge.
VCES Maths Games Days
Funded by the Department of Education and Training, through the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series (VCES), is the MAV produced Maths Games Days.
MAV is excited to be running maths games days to be delivered across the state as part of The Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series.MAV will deliver a series of Mathematics Games days for students from Yr 5 to 10. These will be delivered across the state, in metropolitan and regional schools.
Each region will host a separate Yr 5/6, 7/8 and 9/10 event. The aim of this program is to challenge high ability students in a fun, challenging, collaborative and competitive mathematics-based games day.
National Mathematics Summer School (NMSS) Canberra
Founded in 1969, the National Mathematics Summer School is a selective camp that caters for students from all over Australia. To be eligible to apply you must be in Year 11 this year and not only enjoy mathematics but must also be very mathematically able. It is a two-week program held at the Australian National University in Canberra in January. Many enduring friendships are made on this very special summer school, and each year a few past students return to help run the program.
