MAV Victorian Coding Challenge Yr 9 & 10
For Year 9 and 10 Independent, Catholic, or non-Victorian schools. Available from March
The MAV Coding Challenge is an engaging eight-part online challenge designed to extend high-ability students in Years 9–10 through authentic computational thinking and coding tasks.
Students work independently or collaboratively to complete a series of self-paced modules, with each module designed to take approximately 90–240 minutes to complete. The modules progressively develop students’ skills in problem solving, algorithmic thinking, pattern recognition, and coding design. All modules are delivered via our LMS platform, Thinkific.
To minimise teacher facilitation, all tasks are automatically assessed upon submission, providing immediate feedback.
The challenge is designed to be rigorous, motivating, and accessible, supporting schools to provide meaningful extension opportunities aligned with the Victorian Curriculum while requiring minimal ongoing teacher intervention.
