Postgraduate Certificate Education

This course is designed for qualified teachers who wish to pursue further studies in a specialised area. This course will not lead to a teaching qualification.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Education is designed for graduate students interested in pursuing a broad academic study of education, and can be undertaken as a stand-alone certificate or as part of a specialisation within the Master of Education. A Postgraduate Certificate in Education comprises 50 percent of the requirements towards the Master of Education. To qualify for the Postgraduate Certificate in Education with a named specialisation, a student must complete 40 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings relating to a particular specialisation.

Postgraduate Certificate in Mathematics Teaching (Year 11-12)

The course aims to develop disciplinary knowledge of mathematics up to Year 12 level. Participants will master senior secondary school level mathematics content and significantly extend pedagogical understanding to teach effectively. The program consists of four compulsory subjects with a total accumulation of 50 credit points at completion. The course is targeted towards current secondary level mathematics school teachers, who at present are not qualified (with a mathematics major) to teach in the mathematics area.
