  2. The real-world application of maths learning
  3. Blowing bubbles: First, it was a gaggle of billionaires. Now, even those responsible for the bubble trouble in the financial world are having second thoughts. So, how did we arrive here?

New Math Methods revision resource released - exam solutions on video

CASIO screen shotAiming to share more than just the right answers, the new Mathematical Methods revision resource uses video to present solutions to the 2016 Written Examination 2. The video format shows the exam being tackled in ‘real time,” and discusses sense-making ways to think about each question, providing students with greater insight into the solution, much more useful than sharing a written solution alone.

Where appropriate, more than one solution is presented, incorporating discerning CAS (Classpad) use, as well has “by hand” methods. The video resource is comprised of 8 videos, with a total running time of a little over 80 minutes. The resource was recently shared with teachers in face-to-face workshops, where it was described as “terrific … most valuable for students and teachers”.

The resource is essential viewing for students preparing for this year’s examination with a Classpad at their side. The videos can be streamed HERE and a pdf of the solutions can also be downloaded for future reference.
