Host:
Renee is an experienced educator currently working as a Primary Education Consultant with the Mathematical Association of Victoria. With over fifteen years of experience, she has also served as a Numeracy Leader and Deputy Principal in primary schools. Renee holds a Masters in Mathematical Leadership and is dedicated to fostering a growth mindset among both students and teachers. Her thesis was titled “How do Challenging Tasks effect student motivation?” This research gave Renee insight into the power that a robust, supportive and challenging mathematical environment in the classroom can enhance student intrinsic motivation and further support student wellbeing. This research and practise enabled her to develop whole school change in Mathematical content delivery. During her tenure with MAV, Renee has worked in numerous schools across Melbourne, offering her expertise to enhance mathematics education in diverse contexts, catering to the needs of students and staff. Her responsibilities have encompassed professional development, planning support, coaching, and modelling to improve mathematical education.
