Description:

NOTE: THESE GAMES DAYS ARE FOR VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS ONLY.

The aim of this program is to challenge high ability students in Years 5-6 a fun, challenging, collaborative and competitive mathematics-based games day. A Maths Games Day is an opportunity for students to work in teams of 4; apply and develop their mathematical talents and thinking skills in a setting where Maths is regarded as fun and worthwhile; work with like-minded high ability students from a diverse range of schools; participate in mathematical activities and games without the usual classroom pressures; work effectively in teams and develop strategies to work collaboratively to solve problems; enhance their problem-solving skills; get excited about mathematics, whilst being rewarded through prizes and awards. Teams of 4 students can be made up of students across both Years 5 & 6. 

 When registering you are registering per team. Therefore 2 registrations = 2 teams (8 students).

Each school may register a MAXIMUM of 4 teams (16 students).

Event booking and cancellation policy

  • On or before the closing date: cancel and receive a full refund, less a $35 cancellation fee.
  • After the closing date: no refunds are available, as costs will have been incurred and catering booked.
  • Illness: a 50% refund is available with a medical certificate. The certificate and refund application must be sent to MAV in writing within 24 hours after the event.
  • All cancellations must be in writing and include any documentation already sent to you.

Free events have no cancellation fee.
