VCE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING 2008

The MAV presented a range of VCE Professional Learning programs for 2008 in Melbourne, Ballarat and Bendigo.

SACs Evenings. (Croydon, Coburg and Ballarat)

These two and a half hour evening sessions provide opportunities for teachers of VCE to be presented with and discuss possible starting points for their students. Participants will be provided with a selection of Analysis and Application Tasks from the “Fresh Starts” CD. The process of developing appropriate tasks, including criteria mapping and the inclusion of technology is discussed with specific reference to the sample tasks provided at the session. Separate sessions will be held for Maths Methods, Specialist Maths and Further Maths. Where possible the “Fresh Starts” authors will be involved in these presentations.

VCE days: Bendigo and Preston

This full day of four sessions is specifically designed for beginning teachers of VCE Mathematics and experienced teachers who would like to improve their teaching. A range of presenters, including practising teachers, will present sessions focusing on different aspects of the courses, such as content, assessment material and technology.

Gippsland SACs Evenings

SACs evenings were also conducted in Gippsland by MAV as part of the Gippsland VCE Networks. They were held in Moe, Traralgon and Bairnsdale.

Sessions on VCE Pedagogy and VCE Exam Preparation will be held in May and August.
